Todd Poses is an accomplished trial lawyer who has spent three decades representing individuals and families in catastrophic injury, wrongful death, product liability, and other complex personal injury cases. Throughout his career, Todd has dedicated his practice to standing up for people facing some of the most powerful corporations and insurance companies in the country.

Before founding Poses Boumel with his law partner, Adam Boumel, Todd spent 30 years cultivating his skills in trial advocacy. Over the course of his career, he has handled cases involving catastrophic motor vehicle collisions, defective products, premises liability, negligent security, and wrongful death.

Todd has served as lead and co-lead counsel in significant cases in both state and federal court, representing clients whose lives have been permanently altered by the negligence and misconduct of others.

Most notably, Todd was a member of the plaintiffs’ trial team in the landmark 2025 federal trial against Tesla arising from a fatal crash involving its Autopilot technology. After a three-week trial, the jury returned a $242.5 million verdict, the first successful jury verdict against Tesla involving Autopilot. In recognition of their work on the case, Todd and his law partner, Adam Boumel, were named Litigators of the Week by The American Lawyer.

Todd approaches every case with the understanding that, for his clients, litigation is not simply about a lawsuit. It often begins with an event that has fundamentally changed their lives and the lives of their families. Todd believes in cultivating close relationships with his clients in their time of need. He carefully selects cases to ensure he can be deeply involved in every client's case.

Known for strategic thinking, courtroom advocacy, negotiation skills, meticulous preparation, and an ability to simplify complex issues, Todd brings decades of experience to every stage of a case. He takes particular pride in developing case strategy, taking depositions, cross-examining experts, negotiating significant settlements, trying cases, and mentoring younger lawyers.

Todd earned his Juris Doctor from the University of Miami School of Law in 1995 and was admitted to The Florida Bar in 1996.

Outside the courtroom, Todd is the proud father of three children, Alex, Will, and Nate, and a lifelong supporter of the arts. Todd can be found on Saturdays at Miami Hurricanes football games.
